Mr Feiran Wu is a highly specialised Consultant Hand, Wrist and Upper Limb Surgeon with expertise in nerve disorders, sports injuries, and degenerative conditions affecting the arm. His clinical approach focuses on restoring strength, function, and mobility through personalised care and advanced minimally invasive techniques.
Mr Wu studied medicine at the University of Cambridge and completed specialist orthopaedic training at leading UK centres. He was awarded the British Orthopaedic Association Overseas Fellowship in 2018 and has been a Consultant in Orthopaedics and Trauma at University Hospitals Birmingham since 2019. He is actively involved in research, leading a Ministry of Defence–funded multicentre study and authoring over 40 peer-reviewed publications.
He treats a broad range of upper limb conditions, from common problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome to complex wrist and hand pathology. Mr Wu is particularly recognised for his experience in endoscopic (keyhole) carpal tunnel release and is skilled in wrist arthroscopy for ligament injuries, ganglion excision, Dupuytren’s contracture correction, and PRP therapy for tendon conditions such as tennis and golfer’s elbow.
For patients with advanced thumb arthritis, Mr Wu offers total joint replacement surgery to relieve pain while preserving movement. He also leads innovative work in forearm deformity correction, using 3D-printed, patient-specific implants for precise anatomical restoration.
