Miss Evi Bakali is a Consultant Gynaecologist with specialist expertise in robotic surgery, endometriosis management, advanced minimally invasive gynaecological procedures, fibroid treatment, menopause care, and complex benign gynaecological conditions. She graduated from the University of Leicester–Warwick Medical School in the UK and subsequently completed a PhD at the University of Leicester. The majority of her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology was undertaken in the East Midlands, with the final stage of her training completed in the West Midlands.
Prior to moving into full-time private practice, Miss Bakali served as a Consultant Gynaecologist at University Hospitals Birmingham, where she specialised in Gynaecological Oncology and Minimal Access Surgery. She has extensive experience in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery, having performed more than 1,000 laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures throughout her career.
Her clinical interests include the diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis, fibroids, menopause-related conditions, PMDD/PMS, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), ovarian cysts, heavy menstrual bleeding, chronic pelvic pain, vulval disorders, and other complex benign gynaecological conditions. Miss Bakali played a key role in establishing the robotic Midlands Endometriosis Centre at The Harborne Hospital, where she performs robotic-assisted surgery for deep infiltrating endometriosis. She works closely with a multidisciplinary team of specialist colorectal surgeons, robotic urologists, radiologists, and pain management experts through the HCA endometriosis MDT.
Her procedural expertise includes robotic and laparoscopic hysterectomy, robotic myomectomy, endometriosis excision surgery, ovarian cyst removal, hysteroscopic procedures, colposcopy and treatment of abnormal cervical screening results, vulvoscopy, excision of vulval lesions, laparoscopic sterilisation and reversal procedures, intrauterine coil insertions, and hormone replacement therapy (HRT) implants. In addition, she offers Juliet Laser treatment for conditions such as vaginal atrophy, lichen sclerosus, mild stress urinary incontinence, and vaginismus.
Miss Bakali holds accreditations including MRCOG, FRCOG, GESEA, and BSCCP, and is an active member of several professional organisations, including BIARGS, BGCS, IMS, BMS, BSGE, BSCCP, and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She has authored more than 24 peer-reviewed publications, regularly acts as a reviewer for scientific journals within the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and has delivered numerous presentations at national and international conferences, receiving awards for Best Oral Presentation.
She is widely recognised for her holistic and patient-focused approach, ensuring that every woman receives compassionate, personalised care and feels fully informed, supported, and empowered throughout her treatment journey.
