Mr Waseem Saeed is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with over two decades of experience in rescue cosmetic surgery, for which he has become internationally renowned. He sees private patients at the HCA Wilmslow Hospital and the Harley Street Clinic.
Mr Saeed gained his primary medical qualification in 1987 at the University of Manchester, after which he trained at St James University Hospital, Leeds, where he gained insight and expertise in the treatment and management of severe, life threatening injuries. He then continued his training in Aberdeen, where he gained knowledge in treatment of a vast range of injuries in agricultural workers. After completing a final Hand and Microsurgery fellowship in Louisville, Kentucky, Mr Saeed took up his Consultant appointment in 1999, in Leeds. He has since been made Honorary Senior Lecturer in Plastic Surgery at St James's University Hospital and has undertaken charity and disaster relief work for limb salvage surgery after natural disasters in Haiti, Pakistan and Indonesia.
After undertaking disaster relief work, he became Faculty at the Global Risk Forum Emergency Surgery Workshops to help improve emergency responses to natural disasters in 2011 and 2013. After this, he joined the International Committee of the Red Cross to aid in the development of guidelines for limb injuries in natural disasters, and later went on to teach plastic surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons for the Austere Environment Course.
