Dr. Sundus Yahya is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist with extensive training and expertise in cancer care. After completing her medical degree, Dr. Yahya trained in the Mersey and Northwest regions, with further clinical oncology training in the West Midlands. She earned her Master’s in Clinical Oncology from the University of Birmingham during her specialist training. In 2016, she was awarded the RCR Cyclotron Fellowship to study Proton Therapy at the University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute.
Dr. Yahya currently holds a substantive position at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, University Hospitals Birmingham, where she serves as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist, Radiotherapy Service Lead, and Lead for Metastatic Spinal Cord Compression (MSCC).
She has previously been the M&M Lead for cancer services (March 2019 - December 2020) and a Medical Tribunal member for the First-tier Tribunal, Social Entitlement Chamber (Social Security and Child Support), Judicial Office, UK (May 2018 - December 2018). As a GMC-accredited trainer, Dr. Yahya is passionate about teaching and mentoring. She has also delivered oncology training in low- and middle-income countries through the RCR International Travelling Fellowship (2017-2019).
Dr. Yahya is trained in delivering stereotactic radiotherapy using CyberKnife and VMAT techniques. She is actively involved in clinical trials for breast, lung, and non-melanoma skin cancers, serving both as Principal and Co-investigator.
