Dr Simon Fynn studied medicine at St John's College, Cambridge and has worked in London, Manchester and Melbourne, Australia. He was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at Papworth Hospital in 2004.

Dr Fynn specialises in the management of cardiac rhythm abnormalities and performs catheter ablation of both standard and complex arrhythmias. He implants cardiac devices including pacemakers and implantable cardiac defibrillators and has have a particular interest in the management of patients with atrial fibrillation (AF).

Dr Fynn has published numerous scientific papers in this field and in 2004 was awarded an MD from Cambridge University. Papworth is the biggest cardiac department in the UK; in 2012 he was appointed Clinical Director of Cardiology. Dr Fynn continues in his role as Clinical Director and is chairing the steering group responsible for the clinical aspects of the move to the new Papworth Hospital in Cambridge.
