Dr Sanjay Saraf is an experienced Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology who has been working as an NHS Consultant since 2011. He has been based at Good Hope Hospital since 2015, which is part of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. In addition to his NHS role, he also sees patients privately at The Harborne Hospital.
Dr Saraf specialises in a wide range of hormonal and metabolic conditions. His areas of expertise include thyroid and parathyroid disorders, diabetes (including type 1 and type 2), insulin pump therapy, osteoporosis, adrenal and pituitary conditions, hypogonadism, lipid disorders, and complex diabetes management.
He is passionate about delivering high-quality, personalised care and works closely with his patients to ensure they feel fully informed and involved in decisions about their treatment. His approach is friendly, open, and focused on helping patients manage their condition with confidence.
Dr Saraf holds specialist qualifications (CCT) in Diabetes & Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine. Alongside his clinical work, he is actively involved in teaching and training medical students and junior doctors.
He also leads on diabetes and endocrinology services at Good Hope Hospital as Clinical Service Lead, and has played a key role in introducing modern diabetes technologies such as Freestyle Libre, Dexcom, and insulin pump therapy to improve patient care.
