Paul Crowe is a Consultant Radiologist with private practices in Birmingham and London. He graduated from Trinity College Medical School in Dublin in 1988. After medical jobs in Dublin, Manchester and the Middle East he undertook five years of specialist training in Radiology in Birmingham followed by further sub speciality training in Interventional Radiology. He has been a consultant interventional radiologist at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust since 1998.
Dr. Crowe has clinical interests in vascular and urological radiology. He undertakes ultrasound, CT and MRI scanning as well as a wide range of minimally invasive interventional radiology procedures for both NHS and private patients.
Having been one of the first in the UK performing uterine artery embolisation for fibroids Dr. Crowe has now personally completed over 7500 fibroid embolisation treatments. He is a recognised expert in the field and has been the leading contributor to the UK Fibroid Embolisation registry. He also offers embolisation treatments for adenomyosis and pelvic varicose veins in pelvic congestion syndrome.
Dr. Crowe's interests in men's health include ultrasound scanning for testicular lumps, multiparametric prostate MRI and embolisation treatment of testicular varicocele and prostate artery embolisation for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Dr. Crowe has held a number of national positions in professional organisation including the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR), is an expert adviser to NICE and the national Radiology Specialist Advisor for Spire Healthcare.
