Dr Oliver Seyfried qualified from St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School in 1999. He completed his anaesthetic training at St Bartholomew’s, The Royal London and St Thomas’ Hospitals, before undertaking specialist training in Pain Medicine at St Thomas’, King’s College and St George’s Hospitals. In 2013, he was awarded Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists by examination.
He was appointed as a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at St George’s Hospital in 2013 and now serves as Departmental Lead. Dr Seyfried has published in peer-reviewed pain medicine literature and has received recognition from the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists for his academic contributions.
Dr Seyfried specialises in the diagnosis and non-surgical management of both acute and chronic pain. His NHS and private practice focus on comprehensive, biopsychosocial pain management, recognising the complex interaction between physical, psychological and social factors in persistent pain conditions. He has extensive experience in treating degenerative spinal and joint pain.
His particular clinical interests include the management of neuropathic pain affecting the arms and legs, as well as osteoarthritic knee pain where surgical options are limited or unsuitable. He is committed to delivering personalised, evidence-based care aimed at improving function, reducing pain and enhancing overall quality of life.
