Dr. Davies has extensive experience in managing a wide range of neurological disorders, developed through specialized training in Birmingham and at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen Square, London. Since becoming a Consultant Neurologist in 2003, his NHS practice in Hereford has enabled him to stay current with common neurological conditions, while his role in Birmingham focuses on specialized clinics dealing with nerve (neuropathy), muscle (myopathy and dystrophy), and other rare diseases.

Birmingham has a strong tradition as a center of excellence in metabolic medicine, and Dr. Davies runs joint Neurometabolic clinics alongside other physicians skilled in managing these complex conditions.

He spent four years conducting research at UCL and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London. During this time, he established a genetic diagnostic service for skeletal muscle ion channel disorders, including myotonia, paramyotonia, and periodic paralysis, all of which are treatable conditions. This research also involved studying potential medications, allowing him to gain extensive experience in neuromuscular disorders.
