Dr Melanie James

Dr. Melanie James is Clinical Lead at HCA Roodlane and is a skilled and experienced Chartered Counselling Psychologist who has a wealth of knowledge from over 15 years in the NHS and private healthcare working with adults, adolescents, couples and families.

In the last 5 years Melanie has worked increasingly in the space of women’s health, specifically perimenopause and menopause and has supported many women throughout this life stage. Melanie is passionate about women developing their sense of agency and control at this time and supports women managing psychological and physical symptoms at a time of life that can present varying challenges.

Melanie works alongside the GP’s to provide multi-disciplinary treatment and education. She primarily integrates Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural theories to both understand the root causes and provide tailored practical strategies for people’s difficulties.
