Dr Maha Awadalla is a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist and Epilepsy Specialist in London. She has extensive experience treating children with various neurological conditions, including headaches, neurodegenerative conditions, cerebral palsy and spasiticity, acute neurological problems and other various neurological conditions. She specialises in epilepsies and epileptic encephalopathies.
Statement:
I have graduated in 1994 from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt.
After finishing 3 years of basic training in paediatrics and Masters degree of paediatrics in tertiary university hospital in Egypt, I relocated to Glasgow, Scotland and had further basic training in paediatrics, neonatology and neurology for 3 years. I completed my MRCPCH in 2003.
I moved to Egypt and completed my PhD degree in paediatrics and started my higher training in paediatric neurology 2004-2009; I worked as clinical lecturer and in research during my higher training.
I was nominated as associate professor of paediatrics and paediatric neurology in 2010 in Ain Shams university, Cairo, Egypt along with consultant position. I have been nominated in 2008 fellowship of Royal college of paediatrics and child health.
I moved to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and worked as consultant paediatric neurology in military hospital, King Faisal hospital and private section in Jeddah between 2010-2013.
In 2013, I moved to UK after completing my CESR (Certificate of completion of specialist training) in paediatric neurology; I have been working as Consultant paediatric neurology at Royal London Hospital (Barts health NHS) for last 10 years.
I have started Private practice over last 4 years at the Portland hospital.
Through course of years of training and consultant position, I have gained wide knowledge in the field of paediatric neurology and built my special interest in epilepsy and complex epilepsies.
I am a member of British paediatric neurology association and fellow of the Royal college of paediatrics and child health.
