Jamshed Bomanji

Professor Jamshed Bomanji is a Consultant in Nuclear Medicine and Clinical Lead and Head of Clinical Department at the Institute of Nuclear Medicine, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He also provides private consultations, including at The Harley Street Clinic, The London Bridge Hospital, and The Wellington Hospital. His specialist interests focus on the diagnostic and therapeutic use of nuclear medicine techniques across oncology, nephrology and urology, cardiology, and neurology, in both benign and malignant disease.

He graduated in 1980 and subsequently undertook postgraduate training at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, where he completed both a Master’s degree and a PhD in Nuclear Medicine in 1987. He was appointed Consultant in Nuclear Medicine at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in 1990 before moving to The Middlesex Hospital in 1993, now part of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Professor Bomanji currently leads the Institute of Nuclear Medicine as Clinical Lead and Head of Department, which operates as the largest single-site nuclear medicine department in the UK. He has authored more than 142 research and clinical publications in peer-reviewed journals and contributed 20 book chapters. He is Editor of Nuclear Medicine in Oncology and also serves as Assistant Editor and Advisory Editor for multiple journals within the field.

His areas of clinical practice include PET/CT imaging and broader nuclear medicine diagnostics and therapies.
