James Lindsay is a Professor of Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Consultant Gastroenterologist. He studied medicine at the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, qualifying in 1993, and completed his PhD in mucosal immunology at Imperial College London. He holds academic positions and performs endoscopy and colonoscopy. He has chaired working groups for ECCO consensus on Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and serves on various national and international committees. Professor Lindsay is Chief Investigator for clinical trials in IBD and leads a program of translational science research. His expertise includes general gastroenterology, IBD, gastroscopy, OGD, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, Crohn's disease, and ulcerative colitis.
