Dr. James H. Briggs is a consultant radiologist specialising in both interventional and diagnostic radiology, with clinical practice based in Berkshire and London. His academic background began in the physical sciences, having graduated with a first-class degree in Physics from University College London, before completing his medical qualification in 2007.
Following medical school, Dr. Briggs completed his core medical training in Oxford and went on to specialise in clinical radiology. He subsequently undertook advanced fellowship training in interventional radiology. He was among the earliest cohort of clinicians to be awarded a Certificate of Completion of Training in clinical radiology, alongside formal accreditation in interventional radiology as a recognised subspecialty.
Dr. Briggs has more than ten years of experience in interventional radiology, with a clinical focus on embolisation-based treatments. His procedural work includes fibroid embolisation, prostate artery embolisation, image-guided biopsy techniques, ultrasound imaging and coronary CT scanning. Alongside this, he maintains a substantial diagnostic radiology practice, with particular expertise in cardiovascular and thoracic imaging, including the assessment of coronary artery disease, lung cancer and interstitial lung disease.
He currently practises at The Princess Grace Hospital, where his work combines advanced imaging techniques with a structured, patient-centred approach to care. In parallel with his clinical work, Dr. Briggs has contributed to the medical literature through publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Briggs is professionally affiliated with several specialist organisations, including the British Society of Interventional Radiology, the European Society of Interventional Radiology, the British Society of Cardiac Imaging and the European Society of Thoracic Imaging.
