Dr Florian Wernig is a highly experienced specialist in endocrinology. Dr Wernig is based at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust as a Consultant Endocrinologist and offers private consultations at the Cromwell Hospital in London. He is also a Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London. Whilst he is proficient in all aspects of endocrinology, Dr Wernig has particular specialist interest in pituitary disease, thyroid cancer, neuroendocrine tumours and adrenal disorders.

Dr Wernig has a very strong academic and research background and has completed training at various leading institutions in London. After graduating with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2000 from the University of Innsbruck in Austria,Dr Wernig went on to conduct further research at the Austrian Academy of Sciences and at St George's, University of London. He undertook postgraduate specialist training in general internal medicine and endocrinology as part of the Imperial College London/Hammersmith Hospital rotation. 

Dr Wernig remains heavily involved in research, leading a number of international, multicentre clinical trials as the principle investigator. He is also a member of the Endocrine Society, the British Society of Endocrinology and the European Society for Endocrinology and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
