About
Dr. Emma Drasar is a consultant haematologist who graduated from the Royal London School of Medicine in 2001 and was awarded MRCP in 2006. She undertook her specialist haematology training at King's College and earned an FRCPath in 2015. Dr. Drasar has extensive experience in sickle cell disease, thalassaemia, and rare anaemias. She has published 20 papers in peer-reviewed journals and is currently an honorary senior lecturer. Dr. Drasar is the thalassaemia lead for the UK Peer Review process and network lead for the North Central London Red Cell Network. She helped establish an automated apheresis service and a transient elastography service for monitoring patients with liver complications. She is passionate about training in red cell and iron disorders management and has established courses and roadshows to raise awareness and improve clinical skills. Her expertise includes sickle cell disease, thalassaemia, rare anaemias, iron disorders, and hyperferritinaemia.
