Professor Elijah Behr is an expert in the field of cardiology, with a specialisation in arrhythmia diagnosis, treatment, and management. He is a Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at St George's University Hospital, where he conducts arrhythmia research. He consults privately at Mayo Clinic Healthcare, Harley Street Clinic, and Surrey Cardiovascular Clinic.
Professor Behr obtained his primary medical qualification from the University of Cambridge and pursued advanced cardiology training at St. George's Hospital. After completing his training, he was appointed Consultant at St George's Hospital in 2007, where he leads the Inherited Cardiac Conditions and Arrhythmia Clinic. He has previously held the position of President of the Association for Inherited Cardiac Conditions and established a focus group for the European Cardiac Arrhythmia Generics.
In addition to his clinical work, Professor Behr is an active member of the scientific and research community. He has published several research papers in top cardiology journals, serves as an editorial board member for the Heart Rhythm Journal, and contributes to international guidelines for arrhythmia treatment and cardiac arrest. Professor Behr is also known for his involvement in the UK 100,000 Genomes Project Cardiovascular Genome England Clinical Interpretation Partnerships.
