Dr Bejal Pandya is a Consultant Cardiologist in the Congenital Cardiology department at Barts Heart Centre, St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London. She qualified from University College London in 2001 and trained in Cardiology in the London Deanery.
Dr Pandya is an expert in adult congenital heart diseases and she is also interested in aortic diseases and pulmonary hypertension associated with heart disease. She has extensive experience in a range of cardiac procedures including cardiac catheterisation, pulmonary vascular resistance studies, complex echocardiography such as bubble contrast echocardiography and transoesophageal echo.
Dr Pandya is passionate in levelling-up the discrepancies in cardiac care received by women when compared to men and is keen to investigate, highlight and investigate women with symptoms and promote early prevention in cardiac disease.
Dr Pandya has a keen interest in clinical research with a focus on MRI-augmented cardiac catheterisation studies and has published extensively in this area. She is a keen educator and lectures nationally and internationally.
Dr Pandya is also the Clinical Director of Specialised Cardiology at Barts Heart Centre, and the President-Elect for the British Congenital cardiac Association. She also chairs the National Pectus Service.
