Mr Azhar Shaida

Mr Azhar Shaida is an experienced Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon specializing in adult and paediatric ENT surgery, otology (ear disease), hearing loss, and auditory implants.  Awarded a scholarship to Cambridge University in 1984, he completed his clinical training at Oxford University in 1990. He undertook higher surgical training across Oxford, London, and Cambridge before receiving his FRCS in General Surgery and FRCS (ORL-HNS) in Otolaryngology. Appointed as a Consultant in 2002, he brings over two decades of specialist consultant experience.  

Mr Shaida is Clinical Lead for Otology and Auditory Implants and Clinical Governance Lead for the RNENTEDH Division at UCLH. He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the UCL Ear Institute and was awarded an MD degree for his research into rhinology. He serves as Assistant Editor for the Journal of Laryngology and Otology and is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
