Dr Daniel Stott is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Maternal–Fetal Medicine at University College Hospital London (UCLH) and The Portland Hospital. He also holds an academic appointment as Associate Professor in Obstetrics at University College London and is an Honorary Lecturer at UCL. At UCLH, he established a dedicated antenatal clinic for women with hypertension and serves as the Trust’s Clinical Lead for foetal monitoring. He has also been appointed Regional Obstetric Lead for the ABC programme, a national initiative aimed at improving obstetric outcomes.
Dr Stott specialises in maternal and fetal medicine, with tertiary-level expertise in obstetric ultrasound scanning, prenatal diagnosis, and maternal medicine. His research interests focus on pregnancies complicated by hypertension and fetal medicine. He completed his MBBS at St George’s, University of London, followed by postgraduate training within the London Deanery, and undertook sub-specialty training in maternal and foetal medicine at University College Hospital London. He was awarded an MD from King’s College London for research into haemodynamics in hypertensive pregnancies, conducted under the supervision of Professor Nicolaides, and has published widely in the field of pre-eclampsia.
In addition to his clinical and academic work, Dr Stott is Social Media Editor for the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Associate Editor of The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. He is a member of the International Society for Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG), the British Intrapartum Care Society, and the Medico-Legal Society.
