Dr Daniel Keene is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist with extensive experience in cardiac rhythm management and complex device therapy. He graduated in medicine from University of Manchester in 2009, became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2012, and also completed a Master’s degree at Middlesex University that same year. After completing his early postgraduate and core medical training, he was appointed as an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Cardiology at Imperial College London in 2013.
He subsequently undertook a British Heart Foundation Clinical Research Training Fellowship, completing a PhD in 2016 focused on emerging challenges in implantable cardiac devices. Further specialist training followed through an Advanced Clinical Training Fellowship in Electrophysiology and Cardiac Devices, where he developed expertise in electrophysiology procedures, catheter ablation, implantation of both standard and complex cardiac devices, as well as device troubleshooting and long-term management.
Dr Keene has specialist interests in conduction system pacing, subcutaneous ICD implantation using nerve block analgesia, advanced CRT procedures, cardiac lead management, and complex lead extraction techniques. He also performs and interprets electrophysiological studies and carries out ablation procedures for a range of rhythm disorders, particularly atrial arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation.
