Mr Brian Blem

Brian Blem is a Counselling Psychologist with over 15 years experience in private practice. His approach is client centered and collaborative. Drawing on a broad range of theories (Behaviorism, Psycho-dynamic, Biological, Existential, Ecosystemic and Narrative), he sees the Nature versus Nurture dynamic as useful in understanding why people have problems adjusting to life's challenges. He uses BWRT to redress trauma and loss, as well as addiction, and he teaches mindfulness practices (conscious breathing, emotional regulation, mental flexibility, and meditation) to empower clients with useful coping mechanisms. His role is to hold, heal, and equip.
