Mr. Ata Jaffer is a highly skilled robotic surgeon with specialised training in the treatment of urological cancers, including those affecting the prostate, kidneys, bladder, and testes. He also has a particular interest in treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and is one of the few urologists in northern England trained to perform laser prostate surgery (HoLEP).

Alongside his subspecialty focus, Mr. Jaffer is experienced in treating a wide range of general urological conditions, such as urinary tract infections (UTIs), kidney stones, testicular lumps and pain, blood in the urine (haematuria) or semen (haematospermia), incontinence, and erectile dysfunction.

Currently, Mr. Jaffer serves as a consultant urologist at Stepping Hill Hospital and sees patients at Macclesfield, Tameside, and Leighton Hospitals.

He completed his surgical and urological training in Yorkshire, where he was awarded the prestigious 1st prize by the Royal College of Surgeons for demonstrating outstanding surgical skills among his peers in the UK. After completing his training, Mr. Jaffer was selected for a competitive robotic surgery fellowship at the renowned Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London, the first UK hospital accredited by the Vattikuti Foundation for Robotic Surgery. During his fellowship, he became one of the first surgeons in Europe to perform robotic prostatectomy using both the traditional Da Vinci system and Medtronic's HUGO platform.

Mr. Jaffer is also dedicated to advancing surgical innovation. He has collaborated with the engineering departments at the University of Leeds and King's College London to develop new tools for minimally invasive surgery. To further deepen his expertise, he completed a mini-MBA in surgical innovation and leadership at King’s College London.

In his personal life, Mr. Jaffer is an avid sports fan who enjoys football and cycling. He is also passionate about motorsport, particularly Formula 1 racing.
