About

Dr Hudson is an experienced consultant oncologist specialising in the treatment of prostate cancer with targeted medicines, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. He is an accomplished cancer researcher and leads the clinical trial programme for prostate cancer at The Christie. He is a principal investigator on numerous international prostate cancer clinical studies as well as lead UK investigator for early phase clinical trials. He works within the Experimental Cancer Medicines Team at The Christie to conduct clinical trials investigating the use of new prostate cancer treatments.

He has a medical degree from The University of Manchester and a PhD focussing on the genetic causes of cancer. His primary research interest is the use of tumour genetic sequencing to determine the optimal treatment sequence for patients. As the GM Cancer lead for prostate cancer genomics, he oversees the regional pathway for hereditary BRCA testing of patients with high-risk family histories to inform cancer screening of relatives. He collaborates with geneticists and scientists researching hereditary prostate cancer.
