About

Mr Ahmed Habib is a leading Consultant Thoracic Surgeon with his NHS practice based in Wolverhampton. He specialises in robotic chest surgery, collapsed lung surgery and the treatment of hyperhidrosis, as well as pectus excavatum, lung cancer and myasthenia gravis surgery. In 2019, he established the first robotic thoracic surgery centre in the West Midlands.

Mr Habib is widely respected for his academic and research contributions. He is currently the primary investigator for several major studies, including RESTORE (pectus excavatum), RAMON and UKLVRS. His award-winning research has been presented nationally and internationally, including through a prize-winning global webinar, and has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals. Since 2018, he has served as the thoracic surgery board representative for the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery (SCTS) at New Cross Hospital.

He holds an MBBCh, an MSc in General Surgery and an MD, alongside MRCS and FRCS qualifications. His higher surgical training included clinical fellowships in Cairo and at multiple NHS trusts across London, Birmingham and Hull. He is a member of several professional bodies, including the Society of Cardiothoracic Surgery of Great Britain and Ireland and the Royal College of Surgeons.

Mr Habib is also highly regarded for his commitment to medical education. He is the postgraduate training and educational supervisor at New Cross Hospital, an FRCS examiner in thoracic surgery for the Royal College of Surgeons, and a guest lecturer on the Nottingham FRCS course. In addition, he lectures for CESR (EDAI) applications, supervises foundation doctors, and previously served as an undergraduate tutor at Hull York Medical School from 2016 to 2018.
