Ahmed Ammar

Dr Ammar is a Consultant Cardiologist specialising in cardiac electrophysiology and heart rhythm disorders, currently working at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and serving as an Honorary Consultant at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire. His practice covers the full spectrum of adult cardiology, with particular expertise in diagnosing and treating complex arrhythmias.

He completed his initial cardiology training at Ain Shams University Hospitals in Egypt, where he was awarded a Master’s degree in 2013 followed by a PhD in 2017. After relocating to the UK in late 2017, Dr Ammar pursued advanced subspecialty fellowships in electrophysiology and cardiac pacing at East Sussex NHS Trust and Barts Heart Centre. Through this training, he achieved full national and international accreditation in both fields.

In recognition of his professional contributions, Dr Ammar was elected Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2023 and Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology in 2024.

Dr Ammar treats a wide range of cardiac conditions and has extensive procedural experience. His clinical work includes implantation of permanent pacemakers, biventricular pacing systems, conduction system pacing devices, and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators. He also performs catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, and premature ventricular contractions, using contemporary mapping and ablation technologies.

Recognised for his meticulous approach and clear communication style, Dr Ammar is known for involving patients closely in decision-making and ensuring they feel informed and supported throughout their care.
