Mr Andrea Scala is a Colorectal and General Surgeon currently working at the private practices Lister Hospital. His current post is at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust where he holds to position of Colorectal Cancer MDT lead. His areas of specialist interest include Minimally Inasive lower gastrointestinal surgery (Laparoscopic and Robotic approach). He has specific interest in the surgical treatment of Colorectal Cancer and in complex abdominal wall hernia surgery.

He is the lead surgeon for the regional Anal Cancer network. He is an accredited Colonoscopist for the national Bowel Cancer Screening Program and he offers a range of treatments and tests including colonoscopy, diagnostic endoscopy and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. He is the Clinical Director of the Endoscopy Service at the Royal Surrey County Hospital.

Mr Scala qualified in medicine at the University of Naples in 1998. He has a Doctorate of Research in surgical sciences and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies at Federico II University of Naples. He has many professional memberships including Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons of England and Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland.

In addition, Mr Scala has published many research papers and is invited to present regarding his areas of expertise at national and international meetings.
