Miss Muirhead-Allwood is an internationally-renowned consultant orthopaedic surgeon, and one of the most experienced in carrying out hip replacement procedures in the UK, with over 30 years of experience in her field. She is also a member of the British Orthopaedic Association, British Hip Society, International Hip Society, European Hip Society, Royal Society of Medicine, Royal College of Surgeons.

She has published multiple peer-reviewed papers and book chapters and has also presented at national and international conferences. She carries out ongoing research into hip surgery with Professor Jonathan Jeffers and the engineering department at Imperial College London. Miss Muirhead-Allwood has particular interest in hip replacement, hip resurfacing, hip revision surgery and arthritis (hip). Miss Muirhead-Allwood established The London Hip Unit which has a worldwide reputation for clinical excellence as one of the UK’s only dedicated private facilities for the specialist treatment and care of adults with hip problems.
