Afrina Alam

Dr Alam is a multi-award winning Gold Medallist Consultant Dermatologist, trained at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospital Medical School awarded first prize at medical school final examinations. Dr Alam enjoys treating patients with skin concerns holistically, gently and effectively using high efficacy treatments and procedures.

Her special interests include acne, rosacea, skin rashes and management of moles. As a general dermatologist, she also sees the range of common skin presentations including general rashes, lesions and hair and scalp issues.

Further awards include MBBS honours with distinctions in Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics and Gynaecology and medical school prizes in a range of medical and surgical specialities. She has been awarded the British Association of Dermatologists Trophy and Prize and the Royal College of Physicians prize for her PhD research which was published in the Nature journals group.

Her postgraduate training includes Guy’s Hospital, The Royal Brompton Hospital, Imperial College London, St. John's Institute of Dermatology and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. She is an Imperial College lead for medical student teaching and has been awarded commendations for teaching excellence.
