About

Dr Deepa Janga is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist based at The Portland Hospital in London. Her clinical practice spans complex antenatal care, fetal medicine, and both benign and emergency gynaecology. She manages high risk pregnancies, recurrent miscarriage, menstrual abnormalities, menopausal care including hormone replacement therapy, and performs advanced obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound examinations, including 3D imaging. She is also trained in minimally invasive surgical techniques for benign gynaecological conditions.

She leads the Fetal Medicine Unit at North Middlesex University Hospital and is actively engaged in clinical research to support evidence based practice. Her particular interests include the prediction and prevention of pre eclampsia, prevention of preterm birth, and the management of multiple pregnancies, especially twins.

Dr Janga completed her primary medical qualification in India before undertaking further postgraduate training in London teaching hospitals. She has worked extensively within London and has experience caring for women from a wide range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. She holds a Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health and provides comprehensive contraception and family planning services.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Janga is involved in postgraduate medical education and training. She teaches junior doctors and specialist trainees and serves as the regional obstetric ultrasound training coordinator for the North East London Deanery. She is an examiner for UCL MBBS final OSCE examinations and MRCOG Part 3. In 2019, she was recognised as Trainer of the Year by the North Central East London Deanery and was runner up for a national award from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

She has also completed a European diploma in operative gynaecological endoscopy, enabling her to provide laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures for benign gynaecological conditions.
