About our Physiotherapy Department

At 30 Devonshire street our team of physiotherapists are highly specialised in their field with advanced subspecialised training to master’s level. We offer tailored care to the individual with the benefit of being strongly linked with the consultant teams. We attend bimonthly multidisciplinary meetings with our consultants with the opportunity to discuss cases and decide on the best management for patients.

 

The team support each patient throughout their journey, whether it’s pre or post-surgery, lymphoedema management or a musculoskeletal pain, patients can expect a combination of manual therapy and a goal driven programme to improve joint function, strengthen and rehabilitate back to better than before.

Emily Drakes Physiotherapy

Emily Drakes

Outpatient Lead Physiotherapist Emily graduated from the university of Birmingham in 2008. She started at the Royal London Hospital in the NHS gaining valuable experience in trauma and orthopaedics. After 5 years in the NHS Emily moved into private practice on Harley Street in a rehabilitation and Pilates role. Alongside this she worked for Chelsea FC’s academy building experience in elite level sport. To expand her knowledge Emily completed a MSc in Strength and Conditioning. After seeking a bigger challenge Emily started at HCA at the Shard where she became the outpatient lead. Here she started the running MOT service, Pilates service and developed multiple sub specialties in line with the hospitals service lines. Her husband’s role took them to Singapore for 2 years where Emily worked in a sports clinic developing the MSK service alongside Pilates. When returning back to the UK Emily couldn’t resist coming back to the HCA family, this time to the Princess Grace team where she has resumed an outpatient lead role. Emily’s experience has led her to specialise in lower limb and post-operative rehabilitation. Emily has completed 9 marathons so naturally knows a lot about how to avoid injuries and get through long runs unscathed! Emily likes to get clients maximising their function as quickly as possible and using rehabilitation to make people feel stronger and more resilient than ever before. Outside of work Emily has 2 little boys to chase around, they have taken most of her time and energy but she wouldn’t have it any other way!

Brid Kean Physiotherapy

Brid Keane

Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist Brid graduated with an Honours degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Brighton in 2004. She initially worked within the NHS at one of London's leading teaching hospitals before travelling the world and working in New Zealand and Australia. On return to London in 2010, Brid jumped back into the private healthcare sector in the city before joining the Outpatient Physiotherapy team at The Princess Grace Hospital in 2013. Further qualifications gained include Pilates Instructor certification with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI), a post-graduate qualification in acupuncture with the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) and vinyasa flow Yoga instructor qualification (London School of Yoga). Brid specialises in the treatment and management of musculoskeletal injuries with special interests including the use of modified Pilates in the management of low-back pain, spinal and postural dysfunctions, as well as rehabilitation following orthopaedic surgery and strength & conditioning programs. She also works within the oncology services in the treatment and management post breast surgery. In 2018, Brid embarked on a 5- year diploma program in Psychotherapy at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE) and in 2022 progressed into a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist role. This additional training enables a truly holistic approach incorporating physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual aspects. Thus, Brid combines her variety of skills in order to provide a mind-body approach designed to meet the needs of each individual. 

Tamara Kosevic Physiotherapy

Ms Tamara Kosevic

Clinical Lead Lymphoedema HCA Lymphoedema Clinical Lead at The Princess Grace Hospital and Founder and Chair and founder of the Lymphoedema International Health and Development Awareness (LIHDA) charity in London, UK. With previous clinical experience in managing the most complex lymphoedema cases in the UK, within NHS and private healthcare organizations, and abroad. Ms Kosevic completed post-graduate studies at the University of Glasgow as a Specialist in Lymphoedema Management. She is enrolled with MSc in Global Health and Development at the University College London, working on a proposed dissertation on eradicating lymphatic filariasis. For a third year, Ms Kosevic is an affiliate lecturer involved with the first bachelor's programme in physiotherapy opened in Sierra Leone at Tonkolili District College of Health Science. Ms Kosevic is Patron and co-founder of the National Lymphoedema Framework Croatia, formed in 2022. She is nominated for a Trustee of the British Lymphology Society, this year. She continues to raise awareness, educate healthcare professionals in developing countries, proposing and implementing national policies and donating compression garments aid necessary for the successful treatment of lymphoedema, lympho-vascular diseases and lipoedema worldwide, with a special focus on marginalized population. In a spare time, Tamara likes to run her charity activities, volunteer and walk her border collie.

Vidhi Mehta Physiotherapy

Vidhi Mehta

Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist Vidhi graduated with an honors degree in Physiotherapy from the Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai in 2019. She worked initially for two years with private clinics in Mumbai, India. Alongside this, she specialized in Mat Pilates with Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI), Kinetic control techniques, Dry needling, and Taping techniques. Vidhi expanded her experience whilst handling a broad range of Musculoskeletal, gym based, and sports injuries, post-operative case-scenarios, elderly rehabilitation, and neuropathies. In 2021, she continued her education by enrolling in a MSc in Advanced Physiotherapy (MSK) programme at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she specialized in Manual Therapy, Gait analysis, soft tissue mobilization, and research methods. She started working with private clinics in Manchester alongside her master’s programme. Later, she worked for Kent Community NHS Foundation Trust as a MSK physiotherapist. Currently, she works full-time Senior MSK Physiotherapist at David Lloyd Club, Hampton in association with Response Physiotherapy. Vidhi has a keen interest in the post-operative rehabilitation, lumbar and lower limb injuries. In addition, she also includes mat Pilates in the management of her spinal pain, and postural dysfunction patients, and management following orthopaedic surgery. Outside of work, Vidhi enjoys badminton, dancing, yoga and travelling. Vidhi is enthusiastic, as well dedicated about ensuring the clients to return to their goals by implementing patient oriented, and an evidence-based practices.

Ryan Strother

Ryan Strother

Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist Ryan initially undertook a BSc sports and exercise science degree at Loughborough University. He then went on to study a pre-reg MSc in Physiotherapy at the University of Southampton. Ryan graduated in 2019 and started his career working for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust completing general physiotherapy rotations. Currently, he works at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust where he rotates around various specialist musculoskeletal teams. Ryan has a keen interest in the injuries and rehabilitation of the shoulder and lower limb. He enjoys engaging in research and teaching which has led him to present at several research symposiums and to undergraduates at King College London University. Outside of work Ryan enjoys strength and conditioning training, road cycling and traveling. Ryan has a passion for employing both evidenced based practice and patient-centred care to help his clients achieve their health, function, and performance-related goals.

Justin Lim

Justin Lim

Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist Justin sees individuals of all ages and functional abilities and help them to get back to where they want to be. His speciality lies in return-to-sport, post-surgical rehabilitation and lower limb rehabilitation. He likes to challenge patients physically and strengthen their resilience through rehabilitation. Justin is an ambassador at the Personalised Healthcare Institute where he promotes patient-centric and best evidenced care to his patients. Justin has also published and presented at national conferences.
Outside of work Justin keep himself fit and healthy through gym and various sport. He is also a keen ultimate frisbee player and likes to travel!

Scott Johnston

Scott Johnston

Therapies office administrator Scott has worked for the physiotherapy department at princess grace Hospital since early 2022. As a therapy’s administrator he is tasked with supporting all physiotherapists and dieticians and liaising with various Consultants, Secretaries and patients insuring the department runs sufficiently and smoothly. Prior to this role he has worked as an Endoscopy Co Ordinator and inpatient accounts at the wellington Hospital for the past few years. These roles required a high level of organisation, customer care and focus to details which Scott brings to the therapies department. Scott is very sociable and friendly and loves nothing more than spending time with his young family and friends. A follower of various sports including football, Rugby and athletics and occasionally participating when he has free time.
