WHAT TO EXPECT

Your time with us
A little extra time, care and specialist support as you recover can make all the difference and that’s what our physiotherapy teams offer. We want you to feel confident and safe in your recovery, so our approach is carefully focussed and developed in close liaison with your HCA UK clinical team.

Our approach will vary depending on your specific needs, but the overview below gives you a good idea of what to expect.

01

Initial assessment

On day one, you’ll complete an assessment with your physiotherapist. You can discuss how you’re feeling, what you hope to achieve and how your recovery is going so far. Your physiotherapist will assess you and create a plan with you to work towards achieving your goals.

02

Setting goals for progress

Your physiotherapist will set goals for your programme with you and define your progress markers. They’ll use objective and subjective markers to monitor your progress and adapt your treatment as needed.

03

Ongoing treatment

Your ongoing treatment will be tailored to your needs. Your physiotherapist will bring all their clinical experience and expertise to your case, reviewing and modifying your treatment at every stage of your journey to recovery.

It’s a good idea to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that lets you move about easily and lets your therapist easily access the area of your body that needs supporting.  A loose t-shirt, leggings or shorts are ideal, making it easy for you to perform exercises and stretches without feeling restricted.

It’s best to remove any jewellery that might get caught and to wear shoes that are easy to slip off and on.
We offer a whole range of techniques and services from manual therapy to exercise therapy, hydrotherapy, shockwave therapy, dry needling and structured rehabilitation programs as well as advanced technologies. Your physiotherapist can recommend the best combination of approaches for you.

Our patient stories

I have completed six physiotherapy sessions with Liz Kirton and cannot recommend her highly enough. She is not only highly skilled but also incredibly kind. She took the time to help me understand my health issues and made every effort to rehabilitate me from my condition.
