Welcome to Leaders in Oncology Care

LOC was set up by four leading cancer specialists to provide outstanding patient care and cutting-edge treatments, delivered according to the standards of best practice recognised around the world.

Over the years we have continually expanded our facilities and services to meet the growing needs of our patients, consultants and ever evolving treatment options. Originating as a single clinic, we have grown in size, experience and stature and are proud to say that the LOC now offers our services at six out-patient centres across London and one in Manchester.

While we continue to lead in the development of cancer care, there are a number of things that remain core to the LOC and what makes us so different.

Bringing together the best that cancer care can offer

We treat people in a very personal way, with consideration and respect, taking into account particular circumstances of their lives. We also strive to ensure patients are supported continually – before, during and beyond cancer treatment.

LOC Mission statement
LOC care

Everyone, and every cancer, is different.

There is no simple way to explain how we treat cancer at LOC, our pioneering treatments are combined with a personalised plan delivered by highly skilled professionals throughout your treatment and beyond.

At LOC, we provide consultations and day case cancer treatment including chemotherapy, hormone therapy, immunotherapy and supportive care.

No two treatment plans are the same as all of our patients are individual so we aim to provide individually tailored treatment. We take into account how you live your life, your history and your future plans before we plan your treatment.

When should you come to LOC?

Patients can come to LOC at any stage, including:

  • When you are worried there is something wrong but haven’t spoken to a doctor yet
  • When you have seen a doctor already and been referred to LOC for further tests
  • When you have been diagnosed with cancer
  • When you transfer to LOC after starting treatment or obtaining a diagnosis elsewhere
  • When you want a second opinion

Whatever happens, your treatment plan will be individual to you and what you need.

LOC when to come
LOC diagnostics

Investigations and diagnosis

When someone first has symptoms that may be a sign of cancer, tests will be done to work out where the problem is. This will involve scans and tests such as CT, PET, MRI, ultrasound, X-ray and blood tests. The LOC can arrange any investigations at state-of-the-art facilities, with the results usually being available within 24 hours. Your doctor will also consider whether you have any other medical problems that may need to be addressed.

If the first investigations suggest there may be cancer, the next step is to confirm this and to work out exactly what type of cancer it is.

LOC supportive therapies

Supporting you

As a leading provider of cancer care, we recognise that there are many aspects of physical and emotional wellbeing which are important to our patients during and after their treatment.

At each LOC facility we provide a range of supportive therapies designed to help prevent, alleviate or manage the consequences of cancer or the cancer treatments we provide.

Second Opinion LOC

Considering a second opinion?

If you have been diagnosed with cancer, a second opinion can give you reassurance and peace of mind.

Our second opinion service is led by expert consultants, who will provide a comprehensive review of your current and past medical history, to identify the best treatment options for you. Whether or not you have started treatment, this review may identify new treatment options or simply confirm that you are already receiving the best treatment. Our second opinion service is designed to help you make an informed decision about what is best for you.
