Mr Welck is a consultant orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon with a focus on adult foot and ankle trauma and elective conditions. They have achieved a first-class honours with distinction Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree. They have also completed double fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery, as well as a clinical and research fellowship at the renowned Foot and Ankle Institute in Baltimore, USA.

Currently, the individual serves as an NHS consultant at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, where they specialize in complex secondary referral foot and ankle problems, often seeing international patients. They have a special interest in ankle arthritis, ankle replacement, ankle fusion, foot deformity, bunion surgery, and arthritis of the big toe. The individual is highly skilled in performing various surgical procedures, including ankle ligament repair, Achilles tendon repair, ankle fracture fixation, flat foot correction, high arch foot correction, and Plantar Fasciitis surgery, among others.

In addition to their clinical work, the individual is actively involved in teaching foot and ankle surgery and convenes several national courses. They also have a significant research background in the field and have presented their work nationally and internationally.

Outside of their professional life, the individual enjoys running, playing the guitar, and spending time with their family and dog.
