Professor Ernest Schilders started his professional career at the University Hospital in Antwerp and has been appointed as a consultant in Bradford Teaching Hospitals since 1999. His special interests are hip and shoulder arthroscopy and groin injuries in sports. Ernest Schilders has treated players of most premiership teams in the Premier League and the Championship.

Professor Schilders completed his training as an orthopaedic surgeon in Belgium and the United States. He has lectured internationally on his topics of interest and has been appointed as visiting Professor in Sportsmedicine at Leeds Metropolitan University. His long-term research topic is adductor problems in athletes, and he has published in Peer-reviewed Journals.
