HCA Healthcare UK increases access to GP and health screening services across London as demand for faster, more coordinated care grows

HCA Healthcare UK is increasing access to GP and preventative health services across London, responding to rising demand for convenient care that delivers faster diagnosis, clearer pathways and improved outcomes.

From 2 June 2026, capacity for GP and health screening services will increase across two key locations – 2 Upper Bank Street Outpatients in Canary Wharf and The Portland Hospital Outpatients, 32 Wimpole Street - strengthening provision for individuals and employers across central London.

Enhanced capacity in Canary Wharf

At 2 Upper Bank Street Outpatients, a new facility with eight consulting rooms will deliver dedicated GP and health screening services, significantly increasing capacity in Canary Wharf and complementing the existing provision at HCA UK Canary Wharf Outpatients at 40 Bank Street.

The site is designed to provide rapid access to GP-led care and advanced health screens, with seamless pathways into HCA UK’s wider network. This integrated approach supports earlier diagnosis and more efficient progression from initial consultation to specialist care, where required.

Additional services at an established Wimpole Street location

At The Portland Hospital Outpatients, 32 Wimpole Street, GP and health screening services will be introduced within the existing centre, with four consulting rooms dedicated to delivering primary care and preventative health support.

The enhancement strengthens access within an established central London location, providing patients with more flexible access to care alongside direct connection to HCA Healthcare UK’s broader clinical network.

Supporting earlier intervention and more effective care pathways

These developments build on HCA Healthcare UK’s continued focus on prevention, early diagnosis and coordinated care delivery.

By increasing capacity in key London locations, HCA Healthcare UK is enabling faster access to GP services and health screening, supporting earlier intervention and reducing delays between presentation, diagnosis and treatment. This approach helps improve outcomes for patients while supporting organisations to maintain workforce health and continuity.
