Understanding your women’s health journey with HCA UK

What to expect
From the moment you step through our doors, you’ll be looked after by a team that’s dedicated to making your experience both reassuringly focussed and comfortable. Every experience will be different depending on your condition and the treatment your consultant recommends, but this gives you an idea of what to expect.

01

Specialist consultation

You’ll be booked in for an appointment with a women’s health consultant, who may be a gynaecologist, breast specialist, menopause expert or another expert, depending on your needs.  They’ll discuss your symptoms in detail to understand how they’re impacting your life and take a detailed medical history. They may also perform a first physical examination.

02

One-stop clinic assessment

Many of our services are offered on a one-stop clinic basis, with your consultation, diagnostic tests such as an ultrasound, mammogram or biopsy and your initial results all provided in one visit. This reduces the time you need to wait for results, which we know can be stressful. It also speeds up diagnosis and treatment planning.

03

Diagnosis and treatment planning

You’ll quickly receive your results and a clear plan for treatment or further investigations. Wherever possible, you’ll get feedback on the same day so that any follow-up care or procedures you need can be promptly booked in.

04

Ongoing support and follow ups

You’ll receive continuous care, whether you need surgical treatment, routine monitoring or ongoing management and support through a particular stage of life such as your menopause. You’ll have streamlined care from nurses and consultants and onward access to other specialists in the extended HCA UK care network, should you need it. We’re here for you.
