What to expect
From the moment you step through the door, we want you to feel as comfortable and reassured as possible. One of the ways we can put you at ease is to let you know what to expect at each stage of your diagnostic and treatment process.

If you have any questions that aren’t answered here or in the FAQs below, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Our team will be happy to help in any way they can.

01

Initial consultation

Whether you’ve self-referred or have a referral from a GP or physiotherapist, the first step will be to meet with one of our sports and exercise medicine consultants for an initial assessment. This will usually include a detailed history of the injury or performance issue, a physical examination and assessment of your functional movement.

Your consultant will also review any previous imaging or tests available, and request any new imaging that might be helpful for an accurate diagnosis.

02

Tests and scans

We will arrange any diagnostics your consultant has requested to gain a clear understanding of your condition. These may include MRI, ultrasound, X-rays, blood tests or performance testing to identify systemic or metabolic issues.

Wherever possible, we’ll aim to complete any tests during your initial visit. If this isn’t possible, we’ll schedule a follow up visit at your convenience.

03

Treatment and rehabilitation

Once they’ve confirmed a diagnosis, our specialists will discuss the findings with you and create a comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation plan, with options that are fully personalised for your needs.

Depending on your condition, this may include non-surgical management including injections (for example with corticosteroids, or PRP), physical therapy, exercise prescription, or minor surgical procedures. Our multidisciplinary approach may bring in physiotherapists, strength & conditioning coaches, dietitians, or psychologists.

04

Follow up and return to sport

Our multidisciplinary specialists are here to support you throughout your recovery, with ongoing monitoring of your performance progressions and rehabilitation. We’ll help facilitate a gradual return-to-sport or physical activity with preventative strategies and a long-term management plan.

Not at all, our consultants treat everyone from professional athletes to active individuals and people looking to improve mobility, recover from injury, or start exercising safely.
Not always. Your consultant will decide if imaging (like MRI, ultrasound, or X-ray) is necessary based on your symptoms and physical examination. Many conditions can be diagnosed and managed without advanced imaging.
