Understanding your gynaecology journey with HCA UK

What to expect
From the moment you step through our doors, we’re dedicated to making your journey as reassuring and comfortable as possible. Every experience will be different depending on your condition and the treatment your consultant recommends, but this gives you an idea of what to expect.

01

Initial consultation

Your consultant gynaecologist will discuss your symptoms in detail to understand how they’re impacting your life. They’ll take a detailed medical history and may perform a first pelvic examination.

02

Investigations and diagnosis

Based on that initial consultation, they may recommend further diagnostic tests, such as a pelvic ultrasound, blood tests, a cervical smear test or a hysteroscopy.

03

Treatment plan

Your consultant will discuss your test results and make an expert diagnosis before suggesting the best treatment pathway. This may include medication, hormone therapy or surgical options or they may simply want to monitor your symptoms over time.
