In many cases, particularly if you have been diagnosed with ovarian, uterine or vulval cancer, surgery will usually form part of your recommended treatment plan. The type of surgery recommended to you will depend on your individual diagnosis, including the type and stage of gynaecological cancer you have been diagnosed with. A combination of treatments is often used to treat gynaecological cancers, your surgical team will work closely with their specialist consultant oncologist colleagues who can provide your chemotherapy, radiotherapy and other anti-cancer therapies if needed.

CNSs are expert nurses who specialise in specific types of cancer, their role is to coordinate your care with the wider clinical team, providing medical, practical, and emotional support throughout your treatment, care and follow up. How our medical experts gave Nikki a second chance at life
