Dr Anju Kulkarni is a Consultant Clinical Geneticist and the head of the Cancer Genetics service at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. She also provides private consultations across London, including at HCA London Bridge Hospital, Leaders in Oncology Care (LOC), The Harley Street Clinic and The Wellington Hospital. She contributes her expertise to the HCA Genomic Review Board, as well as the Breast and Urology Tumour Boards.
Dr Kulkarni trained at the University of London completing her medical degree in 2000 and holds an MD (Res) alongside Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians. She is among a select group of clinicians in the UK with dual specialist training in Clinical Genetics and Medical Oncology, providing a unique perspective on genomics and translational cancer medicine.
Her clinical focus includes hereditary cancer predisposition, genetic counselling, genomic test interpretation, and the management of common hereditary cancers, such as breast, ovarian, endometrial, prostate, and bowel cancers, as well as skin cancer genetics.
Beyond clinical care, Dr Kulkarni is dedicated to advancing genomics through digital innovation. She led the development of QGenome, a tool supporting hereditary cancer risk assessment and referral guidance, and Nucleus, an online genomics education platform.
