If you are referred to one of our rapid access clinics you will receive fast diagnosis and onward referral for additional tests and treatment, should it be required.
Our rapid access gynaecology clinics include:
- Abnormal Cervical Smear Clinic
- Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding Clinic
- Bleeding after the Menopause Clinic
You may be referred to one of these clinics if you have any of these symptoms:
- Unexplained bleeding from your vagina, e.g. between periods, after the menopause or after sex
- Irregular or heavy bleeding during your periods
- Pelvic pain
- An abnormal smear test result that needs further investigation
- An irregularity has been seen on your vagina, or the entrance to the vagina (the vulva)
Accessing our rapid-access gynaecology clinics
If you are experiencing gynaecological symptoms please see your GP in the first instance. If your GP believes you require further investigation, they can refer you to one of our rapid-access clinics. If you would prefer to see a private GP, we can arrange an appointment with one of our GPs based onsite at The Wilmslow Hospital.
If you have private medical insurance, you will need a GP referral and a pre-authorisation reference to book an appointment with us.
If you choose to self-fund your care, you can request an appointment by contacting us directly.
Your enquiry will be reviewed by our dedicated patient coordinator who will be in contact with you to confirm the next step. They will support you throughout the booking process and with any further access to appointments and care.
