About psychology services for children
At The Portland Hospital, we assess and treat children with a wide range of psychological conditions and emotional, social or behavioural difficulties. This includes conditions related to brain injury, autistic spectrum disorders, chronic pain, anxiety and developmental delay. Our dedicated paediatric neuropsychologists work together with clinical psychologists to assess cognitive ability, diagnose conditions, establish treatment programmes and monitor progress in children — from toddlers to teens. Treatment options may include medication or personalised therapy, including play therapy or occupational therapy, to help children with brain conditions or developmental disorders to reach their full potential.
