Mr Marcus Green, is a consultant orthopedic surgeon based in Birmingham who with two colleagues were responsible for establishing the Birmingham Knee and Shoulder clinic a purely private clinic focusing on conditions of the knee and shoulder. He practices at The Harborne Hospital and The Priory Hospital Birmingham. For 25 years he was a consultant at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham. He graduated from the University of Birmingham medical school during which time he completed a first class honours BSc in pathology. His BSc research on sickle cell anemia won the University Faculty of Science and Engineering prize.

Specializing in knee and shoulder surgery, Mr Green now conducts over 150 joint replacements annually and has perfomed in excess of 4000 in his career. He is proficient in minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques, successfully treating numerous patients with a wide variety of knee and shoulder conditions, from rotator cuff tendon repairs to knee ligament reconstructions. He has published over 60 academic articles reseach papers or presentations. Additionally, he has been the orthopaedic subdean at the University of Birmingham responsible for undergraduate education. As part of the knee and shoulder clinic a regular instructional programme is held for post graduate medics and other allied health professionals

Apart from his medical career Marcus has flown hot air balloons for over 30 years.  He is regularly selected as a pilot for the British team to represent Great Britain in international European and World championships. As well as flying the British national balloon championships he will compete in European national championships such as the Dutch, French, German and Belgium events. He is a keen conservationist and is replanting 50 acres of mixed woodland as part of an ongoing woodland improvement project.
