Mr. Greg Jones is an Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon with a specialist interest in weight loss surgery, gallbladder surgery and hernia surgery, currently working in the Thames Valley region and central London. His current NHS post is at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Reading. His private general surgery work is provided as part of Thames Valley General Surgery (thamesvalleygeneralsurgery.com), a group of specilaists providing surgical care throughout Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and surrounding areas. Greg offers private bariatric surgery with the experienced multi-disciplinary weight loss team of Optimise Weight loss (optimisewl.com). His areas of clinical interest include robotic and laparoscopic weight loss surgery, minimally invasive surgery for gallstones, hernias and heartburn, and enhanced recovery after surgery
Mr. Jones qualified in Medicine from Imperial College London in 2003. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) in 2012 before becoming a consultant in UGI and Bariatric surgery in 2015. He has had specialist Upper GI and Bariatric surgery training at St Thomas’ hospital, London; Oxford University Hospital; Monash Medical Centre, Melbourne, Australia. He has also visited and undertaken fruther Bariatric Surgery training in the Netherlands and France.
Greg prides himself on listening to the individual needs of pateints and finding the best treatment path for them whether or not this involves surgery.
