Professor Mundy is renowned in the field of urology. His main private practice is run from London Bridge Hospital. He is the Professor of Urology and Consultant Urological Surgeon at UCL Hospitals and the Medical Director responsible for Quality and Safety, Research and Development and Education and Training.

Not only has he been a Medical Director at UCL Hospitals since 2001 and was a past president of the British Urological Association of Surgeons but Professor Mundy is also a recent past member of the Council of the Royal College of Surgeons. Prior to this Professor Mundy became an Honorary Professor of Medicine at the University of Crete in 2009 and was Director of the Insitute of Urology, University College London from 1996 - 2007; Clinical Director of Urology at Guy's Hospital from 1992 - 1995; Clinical Director of Urology and Nephrology at UCL Hospitals from 1994 - 2001. He has been a visiting consultant urologist for Marter Dei Hospital in Malta since 1984 and Honorary Civilian Consultant Urologist to the Royal Navy from 2000. 

He has had 42 visiting professorships, given 224 invited lectures around the world including the Hunterian oration at the Royal College of Surgeons in 2007 and the Moynihan oration to the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland in 2009 and has been visiting surgeon to 121 institutions around the world. He has a long and distinguished career in urological reconstruction. His hobbies include history and fine wines.
