Mr Abhi Gulihar is an orthopaedic surgeon practising at Kings College Hospital NHS trust in London.
He has a particular specialist interest in surgery of the shoulder including shoulder arthroscopy and replacement as well as surgery of the elbow, wrist and hand. He has a strong belief in evidence based clinical practice, as well as using the latest techniques. He underwent specialist orthopaedic training in East Midlands and Kent, Surrey and Sussex, and completed a fellowship at the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre, as well as undertaking the European Arthroscopy Fellowship. He has travelled around the USA and Europe in order to learn the latest advances and techniques from other experts. In his NHS practice, he manages routine as well as complex conditions of the upper limb.
Mr Gulihar has a specialist interest in clinical research and in education. He has won a number of awards for his research and teaching, and currently heads various training courses. He has a Masters research degree in Orthopaedic Engineering from Cardiff University and an MD in research into joint cartilage from the University of Leicester. He has over twenty scientific publications in academic journals, and has presented the results of his research at international conferences.
