Dr Syed Asad Hussain is a Consultant Rheumatologist and General Physician with over 17 years of experience in practice. Dr Hussain practices at a number of hospitals based in both North West and central London area, including London Bridge Hospital (HCA UK at The Shard).

Dr Hussain graduated from the University of London in 1995 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. Furthering his education, he received a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Liverpool in 2008. He served as a Substantive Consultant in the NHS for eight years, where he established his vibrant general medicine and rheumatology practice, before transitioning fully to private practice with successful appraisal and revalidation.

Dr Hussain has a spectrum of interests within the field of rheumatology and general medicine, however, a particular specialist area of interest is in bone metabolism. Through years of commitment to the rheumatology field, he has developed extensive skills and experience across an array of complex conditions, which include musculoskeletal medicine, inflammatory joint and connective tissue diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriasis-related arthritis, osteoarthritis, spondyloarthropathy and ankylosing spondylitis, as well as soft tissue disorders such as tennis and golfer elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, vasculitis and gout conditions. His general medicine practice encompasses a wide range of general medical illnesses as well as management of hypertension.

Dr Hussain places great emphasis on the importance of communication and technology when it comes to his practice and providing the best possible treatment. He strives to provide his patients with a reflective, evidence-based approach to treatment.

Dr Hussain also demonstrates his commitment to medical education and training through his role as an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians, and is also an accredited appraiser for other consultants working within the private sector.
