Welcome to The Princess Grace Hospital

Expert round-the-clock care, that’s designed for you
One of the UK's best-equipped, multidisciplinary, acute private hospitals, The Princess Grace Hospital offers fast access to some of the UK's top consultants.

As well as the latest robotic surgery techniques, we offer fully personalised specialist care across a range of disciplines, including orthopaedics, digestive health, breast care, gynaecology, urology and sports medicine.
The Princess Grace Hospital is recognised as a leading acute private surgical hospital. You’ll have access to the latest pioneering medical treatments and technologies delivered by expert multidisciplinary teams.

We’re honoured to work with exceptional doctors who champion the use of robotic technology to improve outcomes for our patients. Our specialist consultants are leaders in their fields, meaning you’ll be able to call on their experience and expertise to treat a wide range of medical conditions.
For most of our services, we operate by appointment only to ensure timely and efficient care. In many cases, you can be seen by a consultant in as little as 24 hours, depending on availability and the type of service needed.

For non-life-threatening medical conditions, our Urgent Care Centre does accept walk-in patients.

For acute, urgent unplanned medical or surgical admissions, our acute admissions service can directly admit patients 24 hours a day under the care of our on-call physicians and specialists.

Please note, if you have a medical emergency, you should call 999 or proceed to your nearest NHS A&E unit.

    Mark Chapman patient story picture.jpg

    Mark's story

For years, left leg pain had been an irritating thing in Mark’s life. “I had a dull, constant ache behind my knee and in my calf when I was standing, especially towards the end of the day when I had been up and about a lot.”
    Neil Coleman Patient Story.jpg

    From a limp to ultramarathons

In May 2022, Neil underwent a combined total knee replacement and simultaneous removal of the PVNS under the care of Mr Pollock at The Princess Grace Hospital. Initially incredibly nervous about the procedure and what his world could look like post-operation, life has completely changed.

    Jeff's penile cancer experience

We speak to Jeff Addison, a 49-year-old husband and father of two who was diagnosed with penile cancer back in 2017. When he received his diagnosis, no one close to him had been diagnosed with cancer, and when he looked online, he found very few patients who were his age and had spoken about penile cancer and its impact.

If you have private medical insurance (PMI), simply follow the steps below to access care at The Princess Grace Hospital. We work with Bupa, AXA, Aviva and Vitality among others:
    1. Check your insurance policy to ensure you know what treatments and services are covered, including hospitals and consultants.
    2. Visit your GP and get a referral – usually by letter. Many insurers require a GP referral for private consultations or treatments. When seeing your GP, mention that you would like to use your private medical insurance.
    3. Choose your consultant. Just visit our consultant finder to view our list of specialists and choose one.
    4. Contact your insurer. Once you have a referral, you’ll need to give your insurer the details of your condition and name your preferred consultant at The Princess Grace Hospital. It’s also good to ask if your treatment or consultant needs pre-approval. If it does, you should obtain an authorisation code for your procedure.
    5. Book your appointment online. Simply click ‘book online’ under your chosen consultant on our consultant finder.

My experience at The Princess Grace hospital was nothing short of excellent.
