HIP CONDITIONS

Some of the conditions we treat

Hip dysplasia

Hip arthritis

Fast access to advanced imaging and diagnostics with tailored treatment plans for hip pain and mobility issues.

Tendonitis

Tendonitis is the inflammation of the connective tissues between your muscles and bones. If your symptoms aren't improving, our orthopaedic specialists offer effective diagnosis and treatment.

OUR SERVICES

Specialist treatment for your hip pain or injury

Hip arthroscopy

Hip arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure to treat a range of hip problems using keyhole surgery. The smaller incision means less pain and a faster recovery time then open surgery, and it can delay the need for a hip replacement.

Hip replacement surgery

Hip replacement surgery is a specialist operation to replace your entire hip with an artificial one to relieve pain and increase your mobility.  Get in touch for expert advice and care from our specialist consultants.

Hip preservation

Our specialist-led hip preservation treatment uses advanced diagnostics and minimally invasive orthopaedic techniques to help alleviate pain, restore mobility and delay surgery. Book a consultation today.

The process

Understanding the private healthcare journey
From the moment you step through the door, we want you to feel as comfortable and reassured as possible. One of the ways we can put you at ease is to let you know what to expect at each stage of your hip investigation and treatment process.

If you have any questions that aren’t answered here or in the FAQs below, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Our team will be happy to help in any way they can.

01

Initial consultation

Whether you’ve been referred by your GP or have self-referred, the first step will be a consultation with one of our hip specialists to find out more about your medical history, symptoms and your overall health and lifestyle. Perhaps you haven’t responded to conservative pain medication or physical therapy and want to find out what else can help.

02

Tests and scans

During your initial appointment, your consultant will examine you and may request imaging scans such as X-ray or MRI, as well as blood tests. Your scans will be reviewed by a specialist musculoskeletal radiologist together with your consultant.

03

Treatment

Once they’ve confirmed a diagnosis, our specialists will recommend the most suitable treatment plan for you. Depending on your condition, that may include lifestyle changes, physiotherapy referral, or even surgical interventions such as joint preservation or hip replacement surgery.

At HCA UK we put together personalised treatments that fully meet your needs. Your hip specialist will always discuss the options with you and agree the best course of treatment.

04

Follow up and ongoing care

Our multidisciplinary teams are on hand to support you throughout your recovery journey, with follow-up advice and care available after your treatment.

Hip and pelvis FAQs

At HCA UK, we offer a wide range of treatments, including non-surgical options for hip injuries as well as congenital and degenerative hip and pelvis conditions in adults and children, including:
  • Hip dysplasia
  • Hip arthritis
  • Hip tendonitis
As a leading provider of private orthopaedic care, we offer rapid access to expert private hip and pelvis specialists across London and Birmingham. It means you will have a confirmed appointment with an expert consultant in as little as 24 hours.
If your mobility is impaired and your hip pain isn't responding to pain relief or physiotherapy, it’s important to seek help as soon as possible. When we feel stiffness and pain, the natural reaction is to avoid moving the hip as much. However, this can weaken the hip further, often transferring the load to the other joints.

Our hip specialists, supported by expert multidisciplinary teams are here to investigate and treat pain, stiffness and immobility. You can book your initial appointment with a hip and pelvis consultant online or by phone.
Yes, we will always look to arrange your scan on the same day as your consultant appointment if you need one, making full use our extensive network of imaging facilities across our hospitals and outpatient centres.
Your treatment and care will begin as soon as you meet with one of our hip consultants, who understand your hips come under a huge amount of strain as they are key to your body’s movement and support.
Rest assured, we have all the services in place to provide complex care, from advanced surgical technologies and intensive care units to dedicated ICU nursing staff.
We offer advanced imaging equipment, from a low-dose X-ray scanner for children, MRI and CT scanners.
Yes, our team of hip and pelvis consultants use the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques to minimise damage to the surrounding soft tissue and offer faster recovery times. You’ll also have access to our highly skilled physiotherapy team, who’ll be on hand to support you after your procedure.
Booking an appointment with us couldn't be easier. You can call us or book using our online consultant directory.

If you have private medical insurance, we'll need your insurance member number and authorisation code, along with your referral letter.

We'll do everything we can to confirm your consultation there and then but, if that's not possible, we'll get back to you with a phone call or email within 24 hours.
Yes, for those who are considering hip replacement surgery and are self-funding, we offer two fixed price options:
